The Principal designer / CDM has the important role of influencing how risks to health and safety are managed throughout various project and construction work on this diverse campus. • Work with any other designers on the project to eliminate foreseeable health and safety risks to anyone affected by the work and, where that is not possible, take steps to reduce or control those risks.

  • Ensure that everyone involved in the pre-construction phase communicates and cooperates, coordinating their work wherever required.

  • Liaise with the principal contractor, keeping them informed of any risks that need to be controlled during the construction phase.

This opportunity has arisen as the client has decided to bring the management of the extensive construction work in-house, therefore, whilst currently it is for a 1-year contract, there is a strong likelihood this role will be made permanent.

The role is based in Surrey so a local individual would benefit from a reduced commute whilst being involved in challenging and extensive project construction work.
