Riverview recruitment are delighted to be working with Royal Free London (RFL) Property Services to appoint a Programme Manager (PM) for their Service Transformation Team on a minimum 3-month contract. This is an exciting time for the team with an abundance of new works streams valued up to £250 million across their customers redevelopment programme and the role is an integral part of the transformational change that is afoot within construction healthcare work streams.



RFL Property Services (RFLPS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Free London Group and the organisations formation it has embarked on a journey of transformational change in the way estate services are delivered within the NHS.


At RFLPS, they act commercially and deliver not only high quality, consistent service but also efficiencies by operating at scale, driving new income streams and adding resilience to its existing operational capacity.



In the role of Programme Manager, you will be responsible for

  • Leading major programmes strategically, working closely with local and regional key stakeholders, to design and deliver major development programmes focused on our clients’ governing and delivery objectives

  • Leading the delivery of best practice, value for money (improved quality and reduced cost) and sharing learnings across the programmes you lead, to support the development of improved value culture across healthcare settings

  • Leading on change initiatives for external clients as well as the Royal Free Group and its constituent sites

  • Taking the full accountability of overseeing and supporting the continued development of services we provide to our clients and customers, including but not limited to PMO and Governance, stakeholder management, business case development and delivery, Programme Health check and Assurance.


Skills & Experience


·A passionate and experienced programme management professional with proven experience of leading and managing the delivery of large development programmes within healthcare settings.

·A self-starter who can manage multiple priorities across different organisations and is highly confident with communicating at all levels

·A natural people and business leader with extensive senior stakeholder management experience and is able to manage, advice, challenge and influence at all levels


You should have experience working in major programmes of £20m+ and within the health sector with a good understanding of treasury funding processes.The successful candidate will need to build a programme structure with clear governance plans – so previous experience on delivering this is crucial.


As a Programme Manager you will have a high level of autonomy, self-drive, and will be able to manage multiple priorities and provide direction to teams to achieve the plan set out. You will need to demonstrate effective leadership skills, not only in working with a range of stakeholders to deliver change in your programmes, but in leading a project team which could be made up of project managers from Service Transformation and colleagues from wider change and support teams.


This role would be ideal for an experienced Programme Manager or Senior Project Manager who is well versed in complex programme delivery and stakeholder management. You should have experience in developing and writing business cases for complex schemes (ideally Better Business Case accredited) and could hit the ground running and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
