Riverview recruitment is delighted to be working with Royal Free London (RFL) Property Services to appoint a Quality Manager (QM) for their Service Transformation Team on a minimum 6-month contract. This is an exciting time for the estate’s consultancy with an abundance of new works streams, one of which is to improve the quality of service operations at a specialised service centre that allow patients to access a broad range of planned diagnostics nearer to home without the need to attend acute hospital sites.


RFL Property Services (RFLPS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Free London Group and the organisations formation it has embarked on a journey of transformational change in the way estate services are delivered within the NHS. This role would be based at the specialist centre in North London.


As the Quality Manager for the specialist centre, you will be responsible for monitoring adherence to the several quality standards that apply to the safe and efficient operation of the services. This particular unit is going through the UKAS accreditation process and require a high-calibre professional to support the operational manager and clinical leads in compelling the full evidence of high-quality standard of provided services.


You will work closely with service operational and clinical leads to measure the departments performance against the Quality Standard for Imaging, Improving Quality in Physiological Services and ISO 15189 standards. Establishing a programme for continued improvement and ensuring the delivery of key performance standards are the key components of this job.

The post holder will be responsible for setting up and managing the Q-pulse Quality Management Framework and System. Writing and modifying SOPs for global aspects of the facility and supporting the modality leads in the creation and maintenance of their individual SOPs is part of the core duties.



Main duties and responsibilities:


·To lead the UKAS and Regulatory assessment and audit processes

·To ensure that the Quality Management System is implemented and maintained

·Develop and ensure a sign off for the local SOPs and policies and to ensure their compliance with the relevant regulations (e.g. infectious control, health and safety, manual handling)

·To report to the operational and clinical leads on the functioning and effectiveness of the Quality Management System

·Responsible for production of the Quality Manual for the services in order to support the accreditation process

·To ensure that the quality management system functions correctly by developing, managing and maintaining regular quality meetings

·Responsible for attaining and maintaining high quality standards as required under the Quality Standard for Imaging, Improving Quality in Physiological Services and ISO 15189 standards

·Develop and implement a programme of non-clinical audits in liaison with clinical teams

·Encourages leadership and staff commitment to complete a full audit schedule

·Collects and controls information from audit findings from internal and external quality assessment and reviews regularly with the Senior Team

·Work within all H&S policies in a safe manner, recognising hazards within the workplace and applying agreed precautionary measures



Education

  • Qualification in Management, Quality Management, Project Management or equivalent

  • Masters degree or equivalent


Experience/Knowledge

  1. Health and safety Legislation and knowledge of Quality assurance and requirements of Quality Standard for Imaging, Improving Quality in Physiological Services and ISO 15189 standards

  2. Experience of setting up and managing the Q-pulse Quality Management Framework and System

  3. Good understanding of the principles and practice of Quality Management

  4. Knowledge of risk management and clinical governance issues

  5. Experience of external accreditation inspections

  6. Ability to develop and write policies and procedures (e.g. Standard Operating Procedures).

  7. Able to explain and implement new policies and procedures

  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills across levels within the organisation as well as interfaces with clients and Regulatory and Accreditation bodies

  9. Excellent decision making, planning and execution abilities in a fast-paced environment.


This is an immediate requirement for an initial 6-month contract. This role requires site presence so with some working pattern flexibility the requirement will be on location 5-days a week.
