Riverview recruitment is delighted to be working with Royal Free London (RFL) Property Services to appoint a Senior Project Manager (PM) for their Service Transformation Team on a minimum 6-month contract. This is an exciting time for the PMO team with an abundance of new works streams valued up to £400 million on the West Hertfordshire redevelopment programme and the role is an integral part of the transformational change that is afoot.
RFL Property Services (RFLPS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Free London Group and the organisations formation it has embarked on a journey of transformational change in the way estate services are delivered within the NHS.
As a Senior PM for the design, development, and delivery of a broad range of multi-skilled construction, capital, and estate transformation work you will lead on the change initiatives. You will have previous experience of understanding the requirements for major public sector business cases and be familiar with the requirements of their development across a broad range of work within a complex organisation. You must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be confident working alongside senior management in both an organisational and client facing environment.
The individual will need to strategically as well as operationally lead programmes, working closely with the Senior Responsible Officers and wider programme teams. Therefore, they will need to be well versed and experienced in programme management and change methodology. You will be required to work across departments and all levels of the organisation as well as externally with clients, to inspire, design and lead these improvement programmes.
You will be mainly supporting the Project Director at the West Hertfordshire redevelopment programme at three trusts, Watford, St Albans, and Hemel Hempstead. As a strategic thinker and with a thorough understanding of estates you will be able to advise and guide the client to their organisation objective.
The Senior Project Manager will work in a matrix arrangement, enabling the delivery of a large programmes of work, smaller more targeted projects as well as providing support and challenge to internal improvement initiatives for RFLPS.
You will have responsibility of managing both internal members of the team and consultants, who will be working on West Hertfordshire among other service transformation projects across the portfolio.
The Senior Project Manager will lead and design work at the complex end of programme management. They will need to be ambassadors for improvement and model the integrity and value for money behaviours essential to sustainable improvement.
The Senior PM will have a high level of autonomy, self-drive, and will be able to manage multiple priorities and provide direction to teams to achieve the plan set out. They should be educated to master’s degree level or be able to demonstrate the equivalent level of relevant experience within a strategic, operational, or project-based environment. Previous healthcare experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
